Located in a small valley, on the shore of a beautiful
4km-long lake, Jugon-les-Lacs is a picturesque village
proudly justifying the designation ‘Petites Cites de
Caractere’
With a charming bustling
main square, there are various shops for all your daily
needs and a small market every Friday. With several
restaurants to choose from, what better way to spend a
summer’s day than watching the world go by from one the
pavement cafes.
Discover the joys of
rowing, sailing, canoeing or taking out a pedalo on the
peaceful lake. A short walk from the cottage, the sailing
school offers a wide selection of water sports activities
and tuition from 6 years of age. Fishing tuition is also
available.
Alongside the lake you can
take the scenic path leading to the children's playground
and heated swimming pool. The area around the cottage is
quiet and you can enjoy many circular walks and cycle
routes.
From our cottage it’s easy
to explore the historic towns of Dinan, St Malo, Le Mont St
Michel.
The mediaeval town of
Dinan with the ramparts and old cobbled streets has plenty
of shops and restaurants. Visit the old port and sample the
delights of the quayside restaurants.
The historic walled city
at St Malo and the spectacular Mont St. Michel are also well
worth a visit.
Lamballe is only 15
minutes away with the picturesque Equestrian centre ville
nearby.
Jugon is situated near to
the Château de la Hunaudaye, a medieval fortified castle set
deep in the forest.
Brittany also boasts some
of the best long sandy beaches and rocky coves in the whole
of France.
The coastline at Pleneuf
Val Andre has miles of sandy beaches, safe waters and
secluded coves. You can walk the coastal path as far as you
like.
Cap Frehel is a
picturesque, rugged coastline with sandy beaches.
Dinard, whilst being a
beautiful town, has a nice beach at St. Lunaire again sandy
and safe for bathing. Water sports are available, including
wind surfing and water skiing.
If you prefer to browse
round the lively Breton markets, there are large weekly
markets in Lamballe and Dinan.
For the golf enthusiasts
there are a selection of courses nearby.
